Attention Local Teamsters Union Members and community members with a high school senior graduating this year!
If you are an active Local Teamsters Union Member, have a daughter/son that lives in the Kansas or Missouri area that will be attending or has been accepted by an accredited university, college or trade school, then Teamsters Hispanic Caucus may have a scholarship for you. Union members must also be current with their union dues.
We will be awarding (4) $1,000.00 scholarships every year:
Two scholarships will be awarded in the Fall of 2024 at the Union Hall (located at 4601 Emanuel Cleaver II Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64130) for dependents of Local Teamsters Union Members. The deadline for these applications is September 1, 2024.
An additional two scholarships will be awarded to deserving students in our community. These scholarships will be presented at our fundraiser dance in February of 2024. Applications for these scholarships need to be submitted by December 1, 2023. (You do NOT need to be affiliated with the Teamsters Union to qualify.)

SCHOLARSHIP REQUIREMENTS:
- Download and mail the completed application form.
- Provide a copy of your acceptance letter to your selected university, college or trade school.
- Provide your most recent official transcript for the current semester.
- Submit an essay with 500 words that lists reasons stating why you should receive this scholarship and include any special achievements, awards, merits, etc. How you are going to pay it forward to the community now and in the future? What's your strengths and weaknesses , and community involvement for our review?
- Provide a color wallet size photo of yourself.
- Personal references coaches, teachers etc.
- Must be present at the above-mentioned events to accept awarded scholarship.
- Mail completed information to the Secretary of the Hispanic Caucus of Kansas City and Vicinity at the address provided on the application.

Marisela is the recipient of the Mario Rojas Unity Award. She will graduate from Bishop Ward High School in 2020 and will plan to attend The University of Saint Mary in Leavenworth, KS where she received a scholarship to play softball. She is hoping to become an Athletic Trainer after graduating from college.

She will be going there for two years then after those two years, she's going to Kansas University Nursing Program, where she will plan to graduate from in 2021.

A graduate of the University of Central Missouri, Manny holds a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science, and a Master's Degree in Occupational Safety Management with an emphasis in Environmental Sustainability. Manny currently works for the U.S. House of Representative in Congressman Emanuel Cleaver II's office, as a Community Affairs Liaison.
A graduate of the University of Central Missouri, Manny holds a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science, and a Master's Degree in Occupational Safety Management with an emphasis in Environmental Sustainability.
